The Christianisation of England took Place in 597 when Pope Gregory I sent Augustine to bring Christianity. His Mission was successful. He founded the cathedral of Canterbury and became the First Archbishop. The monks educated people and administered the country. In Lindsfarne the monks made illuminated Gospels.
